The “Mining Route of South-Western Sardinia” runs through ten municipalities (Guspini, Arbus, Fluminimaggiore, Buggerru, Gonnesa, Domusnovas, Nuxis, Narcao, Iglesias, and Carbonia) located in the south-west of  Sardinia, in the Sulcis, Iglesiente and Arburese- Guspinese  areas, including fourteen mining sites. The Mining Route project was promoted by the Park Authority, in agreement and in collaboration with the ten municipalities that joined the initiative.

The itinerary, including fourteen  sites, offers visitors an unparalleled representation of the many ways in which mining activity has shaped these territories. By following the route, tourists will have the opportunity to appreciate, in all its aspects, the complexity and diversity of a mining system such as that of Sardinia: extraction tunnels, shafts, processing plants, transport infrastructures, and mining villages are the main components of an incomparable cultural landscape in which technical and natural elements blend harmoniously.

Each visitor has the opportunity to create a personal itinerary by selecting the sites to visit from those listed in each of the areas shown alongside. By clicking on each area, visitors will be presented with detailed information on each site, including a brief description and all the necessary details regarding opening hours and available services.
